Abstract (EN)

At the end of the 14th century, Bursa had become one of the biggest cities in Anatolia and had joined the world commerce. In the 15th century city had had an economical relations with the world and had become a center of international transit commerce. Sericulture, commercial roads, organization of tradesmen and foreign merchants had an important roles in the development of commerce in Bursa. In 14th century the region had being formed with the construction of khans, bedesten, arasta bridge, bazaars and shops through the middle of the 16th century. Bursa Khans Region was a first model in Turkish cities by forming the bazaar with different commercial buildings. In the 17th and 18th century, there hadn?t built any new historical building in the region because of loosing the political authority of government. With the Ottoman Reforms in 1839, social, economical and cultural transformations had being done. In this period in Bursa, adminstrational and cultural buildings and new roads had constructed with the changing of commucatinal systems. For 19th century we couldn?t mention about any completely planning strategy. The planning works had being done by the visions of governers who had the adminstration power in the name of the government. At the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, region had become a central with the limited borders by the town planning projects. The changing of communication system had strengthened the region in the state of town, but had caused destroying of many historical monuments. In Republic period, Khans Region has protected the speciality of being commercial adminstrational and cultural centre. Changing in the political organizations has shown its effects in the city adminstrations. With the construction of city adminstration to guide this potential that developed in cities have started the public improvements and first planning works. Bursa, the Ottoman?s first capital city that has 668 years past must have to avoid the pressures in the centre of region and have to be preserved for the future of the generation.
