Abstract (EN)
In the History of Architecture, ''aqua architecture'' is one of the important areas that has preserved its value in every period. An important branch of aqua architecture is constituted by bridges. Bridges; by being a signifier of civilization, they were handled with a construction approach that responds to the needs of the people of the region they are in, and they were built by considering factors such as socio-economic status and transit routes. Bridges in the Anatolian geography have been built by many different civilizations throughout the historical process. Although the bridges carry traces of these civilizations, they show a mutual plan understanding from the point of view of their architectural features. Bursa within the geography of Anatolia, is one of the most significant cities of the historical scene. Owing to its geopolitical location, hinterland, and fertile lands, it contains traces of important civilizations such as Bithyna, Roman, Seljuk and Ottoman. Bursa has maintained its significance in every era and is a center that includes the routes of trade routes. Hereby, it is seen that maritime activities and bridge construction activities are intense together with water existences. The bridges built in the city starting from Roman era constitude one of the most significant branches of zoning activities since the Early Ottoman Period.
