Soil structure interaction is widespread in many applications because the structures are constructed on/in the soil. The interaction of soil and structure has major importance to define the behavior of structure basics whether the structure is located on surface or deep foundation. Soil and structure are investigated together in structure interaction problems. Therefore, material parameters are required for constitutive relations of soil-structure interaction beside of considering structure-soil material parameters separately. These material parameters are generally determined by shear box tests in laboratory. For this reason in this study, determining of required material parameters for soil- structure interaction is intended and for this, testing on large scaled direct shear box is planned. Concrete is used as structure material and dry sand is used as soil material in tests. Mortar-brick interaction parameters are also determined to use in numerical analysis. For the shear box tests, 30cm*30 cm sized large share box is used in Geotechnical Laboratory of YTU. By the performed model experiments of this study, the interaction of soil and the materials which are used in historical structures was investigated beside obtaining the required soil-structure interaction parameters of numerical analysis for demonstrating the behavior of historcal structures. In model experiments, masonary wall was constructed on a concrete foundation then under vertical loading, placed on soil. Selected materials as brick and mortar were kind of that used in historical structures. Finite elements analysis were performed with the mortars which was not failure. Plaxis software was used in analysis. "Hardening Soil Small Model" is used for soil and "Mohr-Coulomb Model" is used for mortars.
