Özet (EN)
The study was conducted to determine the job satisfaction and burnout levels of social workers working in 30 metropolitan municipalities in Turkey and to determine whether they differ according to the variables discussed in the study. 202 social workers working in metropolitan municipalities participated in the study conducted with the quantitative research method between January and March 2024. The Personal Information Form prepared by the researcher, the Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale and the Maslach Burnout Scale are the data collection tools used in the study. The research data was collected face-to-face with social workers working in the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and electronically with social workers working in other metropolitan municipalities. The obtained data was analyzed in the SPSS 26.0 program and interpreted based on the results of the independent sample t-test and Anova statistical tests. The research findings show that the relationship between the dimensions of job satisfaction and burnout level is significant. It was concluded that the research group experienced a medium level of job satisfaction, a high level of personal accomplishment, a medium level of emotional exhaustion and a low level of depersonalization. According to the results obtained from the research, it is possible to say that as the emotional exhaustion of social workers working in metropolitan municipalities increases, job satisfaction decreases, and as the sense of personal accomplishment increases, job satisfaction increases. In the light of the relevant data, it is seen that the desensitization dimension of the Maslach Burnout Scale does not have a significant effect on the job satisfaction of the participants. The research conducted; It was seen as a subject worth examining with the idea that it will make original contributions to the field and with the aim of developing intervention methods for social workers working in metropolitan municipalities to become healthier, happier and more productive by making their sources of satisfaction visible and reducing their levels of burnout.
