Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to investigate the physical and physiological effects of quick strength among the students who play basketball in the school team in the 12-14 age group. Our research groups were composed of 12-14 age group with 13.46 ± 0.88, height 164.54 ± 17.35, weight 59.44 ± 18.77 basketball players playing in the DSI sports club in Kocaeli and the control group consisted of 12-14 age group with 12,00 ± 0,00, height 151,38 ± 8,76, weight 45,55 ± 9,41, basketball players in the DSI sports club in Kocaeli. The training group included 24 athletes whereas the control group consisted of 24 athletes. The sample group performed quick strength training for 12 weeks. While the control group continued normal training, the training group received a quick strength training program in addition to normal training 3 days a week. Control group athletes underwent quick strength training for 3 weeks in 12 weeks. In these trainings, a quick strength training program which was prepared with its own weights was applied in the first two weeks with 24 hour intervals. Two weeks later, quick strength training programs, two days of the week with their own weight and one day of the week weights prepared with additional weight training were applied. The trainings were conducted in the gymnasium of the DSI sports club of Kocaeli. Athletes, coaches and researchers gathered in the training room 3 times a week for 12 weeks at 18:00. After the general warm-up run which lasts 10 minutes, in addition to the 5 minute basketball warm-up exercises, a 45-minute unit training was performed. After the training, cooling movements were performed for 10 minutes. Data were found to be normal (p <0.05). In order to compare the parameters measured before and after the study, t- test was performed in dependent groups and t-test was performed in independent groups to compare the values of experimental and control groups. Statistical results were evaluated at p <0.05 significance level. As a result of the measurements before and after the study, it was found that the difference between body weight and body mass index values of the groups was not statistically significant (p> 0.05). While there was a significant difference in height, body fat percentage, vertical jump, right and left hand grip strength and aerobic strength values of the experimental group students, there was no significant difference in body weight and body mass index. While there was a significant difference in height, anaerobic strength of control group athletes, no significant difference was found in body weight, body mass index, body fat percentage, right and left hand grip strength. The markers of anaerobic power were obtained from the average of vertical jump tests. Keywords: Basketball, Physiology, Anaerobic, Training
