Abstract (EN)
This study aims at analyzing the effects of explosive strength and strength endurance exercise methods on male basketball players certain technical, conditional characteristics and muscle damage. 32 male basketball players have volunteered to take part in the study. The subjects have been randomly put into 4 groups, as the experiment group who performed the explosive strength exercise (ESE, N=8, 15,12±1,25 years); control group of the group who performed the explosive strength exercise (ESC, N=8, 15,25±0,71 years); experiment group who performed the strength endurance exercise (SEE, N=8, 16,00±0,92 years) and control group of the group who performed the strength endurance exercise (SEC, N=8, 16,25±0,89 years). In the beginning, 5 ml of venous blood samples have been taken from all groups and motor and technical tests have been performed successively on each group; ESE and ESC groups have been assigned explosive strength exercise program, which consists of 3 sets and 10 stations and the SEE and SEC groups have been assigned strength endurance exercises of 3 sets and 10 stations. After the strength exercises, venous blood samples of all the groups were taken once more. The Creatine Kinase (CK) enzyme activity has been evaluated from these blood samples. In the statistical evaluation of the study, Wilcoxon Test and Kruskal-Wallis tests have been used and these were evaluated in a 0.05 meaning level. According to the results of the study, it has been observed that there is a decrease in the resting heart rate, systolic and diastolic blood pressure, percent body fat, left hand reaction time to light and agility values of the ESE group; left handgrip strength value of the ESC group; resting heart rate, systolic and diastolic blood pressure and agility values of the SEE group and the push strength of the SEC group. It has been observed that, there has been a meaningful increase in the ESE group?s body height, standing long jump, push up, right and left handgrip strength, leg and back strength values; ESC group?s body height, percent body fat, standing long jump, 5x10 m sprint values; SEE group?s body height, anaerobic power, standing long jump, 5x10 m sprint, right handgrip strength, leg and back strength values and SEC group?s body height, body weight, standing long jump, push up and 10 m and 5,10 m sprint values. As a result, it has been determined that, explosive strength exercise tolerates muscle damage and the strength sustainability exercise does not have any effects in preventing muscle damage.
