Abstract (EN)
This research studies the development of improvisation theater in Turkey in light of the characteristics of contemporary improvisational theatre. In the first part, the definition of improvisation was made, and its position in the theater and its use as a method were examined. In addition, the emergence of improvisational performances within the scope of contemporary improvisational theater and new trends in this genre; Keith Johnstone's "Theatre Sport" and Del Close's "Harold Method" techniques are also examined in this section. In the second part, in which examples of contemporary improvisational theater in Turkey are examined, both the development of contemporary improvisational theater through examples in Turkey and the formal characteristics of contemporary improvisational theater are revealed. In this section, the handling of the "Theatre Sports" and "Long Form" types, their common characteristics, and their relations with traditional sources were investigated if they are to be found.
