Abstract (EN)
This thesis takes into consideration space, place and spatiality debates in contemporary architecture by using phenomenological and Hermeneuetical approaches and exemplifies over the CerModern structure. Different living styles emerging due to socio-economical and socio-cultural changes create different needs from architectural perspective and demand from architecture to fullfil these needs. Because of this reason the study aims to explain different perspectives in architecture from the view of subject-architect (subjective understanding). This goal has been tried to be reached in two steps. In the first step, Phenomenological and Hermeneuetical approaches, which have been started to be frequently used in contemporary architecture, have been analyzed and how they are used in architecture is discussed. However in the second step, getting the essence (eidos) by giving meaning to things in themselves and fusion of horizons have been evaluated in the context of, space, place and spatiality. It has been presented by the CerModern Case that understanding and interpreting of space-subject by architect-subject indicates a unique-subjective understanding and interpretation.
