Interaction of architecture and photography in the context of spatiality and Contemporary Art

Today, 'Spatiality' is an important concept in Contemporary Art, and the efforts to create different sensations on the viewers through a variety of coexisting disciplines is becoming the main purpose of art. Since at the center of the culture which brought Contemporary Art into being is man in all its material and spiritual context, it is important to work in an inter-disciplinary, multi layered area, which brings us to the main argument in this thesis. Lucio Fontana, was and is one of the most innovative and influential artists of the 20th century who has left his mark on the era, inspiring many artists even today with his abstract way of realizing painting and sculpture. Although incorporating space into his artistic work was an avant-garde leap for his period, it is still relevant today, the argument which has forced us to get to know him at the beginning of this thesis. In this thesis, first of all based on Lucio Fontana's 'Spazialismo' and his cultural heritage, his followers in Contemporary Art are analyzed, and then in the context of architecture and photography, architects and photographers dealing with the phenomenon of spatiality in their photographic expressions in relation with space is elaborately filled in. In the context of all these theoretical researches and based on my deductions, my project 'Arada- In Between', is realized associated with spatiality.
