Abstract (EN)

The context of aesthetics changed after the post modern period. Thus, along with in the contemporary art, many works were produced in accordance with this new context in art production and the freedom by the abundance of materials formed a wide range of choices. This freedom enabled the artists to benefit from ready-made objects, writing, industrial materials and the machines provided by today's technology while creating their works. Conceptual perspectives that came into play after modern art and artificial light, which was included in art in this direction, has started to be used as an art object among the materials used by the artist who expresses a situation, idea or issue through his works. With the use of artificial light as a work of art, which continues its popularity among industrial materials, and its spread with the effects of industry and technology in the contemporary art, the uses and purposes of light have changed. Artificial light, used as an art material, has become an object thatmany artists make into works today. While artists' stylistic approaches to light change the ways of using the light, its relationship with space is also a situation that needs to be emphasized. The concept of space has beenreinterpreted in terms of the use of industrial materials as an art medium. The issue of how artificial light, which is used in a pure form, is perceived in the space and on the viewer and the transformations of the perception of light installations in space, which can be produced not only visually but also tactilely, have been a subject that needs to be investigated. Within the scope of this thesis, this study will be carried out with the aim of contributing to the literature by examining the use of artificial light as an art medium, causing different effects on the perception of space and changing and transforming the perception of space.
