Privatization culture and phenomenon of globalization in art through with contemporary art reflections after 1980

This study researches the development of globalization and privatization that have made their mark on the economy and politics as well as culture and arts since the 1980s, and the role of art and the artist in this development. The objective of the study was to show what globalization and privatization is, what stages art goes through in the process of becoming marketable and with whom cooperation is established. In the scope of the thesis the effects of the system, which influenced the entire world with its globalizing economic policy after the 1980s, on the fields of culture and arts is focused on to explain the relation between companies that have taken the economy and politics under their control and art, an important part of financial growth, advertisement and social image. The study was conducted by scanning primary and secondary literary sources. In the first section of the study the concepts of globalization, the cultural dimension of globalization and privatization policies are explained in summary and neo-liberalism is touched on. In the second section the historical relation between art and capital, the financial transformation of art after the 1980s and the stages of the global art market are discussed. To conclude in the third section, how companies use art and in line with which interests they use art is emphasized.
