The use of multiplication methods in contemporary ceramic art

Abstract (EN)

It is seen that the concept of "multiplication" and its methods are used in the process from the first ages to the present day. Since the beginning of civilization, human beings have not been able to prevent imitation, and even need to replicate the products they have made with this instinct and transformed into art. Along with the beginning of contemporary art, the means of expression in art have been diversified and it is developed continuously. In this study, the concept of multiplication is examined; the expressive forms of the multiplication in the technical and conceptual plane, which are divided into categories such as copy, reflection, imitation, representation, repetition and reproduction, have been investigated. The purpose, scope and method of studying the introduction part of the five-part research are discussed; In the second chapter, the concept of multiplication has been examined according to its genres, taking into account the historical process. In the third chapter, the use of the multiplication has been examined in the plastic arts, including architecture, sculpture and painting. In the fourth chapter, the use of reproduction and methods in ceramic art has been examined in three sub-sections as traditional, industrial, and contemporary ceramic art. While revealing contemporary ceramic artifacts, the shaping methods used are emphasized and the examples are given from some artists who reproduce their works for each shaping method while multiplying. In the last chapter, personal practice is given. This study is carried out with conscious consideration to the concept of "multiplication ", taking into consideration the effects of each artifact on ceramic art, which means that it can be handled differently on the work.
