Abstract (EN)

This study examines the depiction of cosmic images in Contemporary Turkish plastic arts, exploring how artists interpret universal themes and integrate them with a cultural perspective. From ancient Turks to the present, the reflections of cosmic images in plastic arts reveal the rich history and evolution of Turkish plastic arts through modern times. The handling of various aspects of the cosmos in art pieces demonstrates the sensitivity of artists to scientific and technological developments and how these developments are transformed into artistic expressions. Furthermore, this process effectively positions Turkish plastic arts on both the national and international art scenes. On the other hand, the incorporation of topics such as cosmology and cosmogony in artworks reflects the artists' efforts to answer universal questions about the origin and structure of the universe. Cosmic images are considered indicators of the desire to artistically express the mysteries of the universe and existence. These images allow artists to explore their inner worlds and express these discoveries through art, thereby pushing the boundaries of art and making substantial contributions to universal art discussions. As a result, this study elucidates the significant role cosmic images play in Contemporary Turkish plastic arts, providing aesthetic and cultural responses to timeless and universal questions. These images successfully demonstrate how they reinforce the universality of cultural and artistic expression and challenge the limits of art.
