Abstract (EN)

This thesis, titled "Vocabulary of Apparel in Contemporary Turkish Written Languages", deals with the vocabulary based on the names of the clothing culture in the standard dictionaries of all Turkish written languages, especially Turkey Turkish. The study aims to reveal the linguistic features of the vocabulary of apparel in contemporary Turkish written languages with comparative methods. The study consists of the main sections of introduction, analysis, index, conclusion and bibliography. The introductory part covers the theoretical information about Turkish apparel within the framework of the subject, purpose, study methods, scope and language-culture relationship of the thesis. In the analysis part, the words (nouns) used in contemporary Turkish written languages for clothing were determined and discussed under six sub-headings according to their meanings as headwear, bodywear, footwear, pieces that complement clothing, raw materials of clothing and other relevant words. The words under such titles are also divided into two parts as words found in Turkey Turkish, common in both Turkey Turkish and other Turkish written languages, and words not found in Turkey Turkish but found in other Turkish written languages. In the conclusion part, the findings and data obtained regarding apparel nomenclature in contemporary Turkish written languages were overall evaluated. Furthermore, a list of the current appearances of the words, which have been used since ancient Turkish and related to the subject, in Turkish written languages, is also presented to support the conclusion. The index section includes the index of all analyzed items related to the study in question. In the bibliography, all the sources used in the study are listed alphabetically.
