Abstract (EN)

Jāhiliyyah period is a time characterized by disputes over its meaning, geography, and historical boundaries. "Jāhiliyyah" is a Qur'anic term that refers to the two centuries preceding the dominance of Islam over the Arabian Peninsula, but it fundamentally describes a certain mentality. Information about this period comes to us through the Islam and human sciences. From Islamic historical sources, we identified over two hundred wars that took place during the Jāhiliyyah period. We reached the reasons for 188 of these wars and documented them. We found that the main causes of wars in the Jāhiliyyah period were tribalism, booty, revenge, limited natural resources, oppression, and dominance. We classified similar reasons for wars under the headings of political, socio-cultural, economic, and religious causes. We provided detailed explanations of the causes of wars and strengthened our thesis by listing relevant examples. Finally, we shared the statistical data we compiled regarding the causes of these wars.
