This thesis is an analysis and study of the syntactic (nahw) and morphological (sarf) issues found in the first poem of the Mufaddaliyat ("Selections of al-Mufaddal al-Dabbi"). This poem belongs to Teabbata Sharran, one of the prominent pre-Islamic poets and the most famous of the Sa'alik (outlaw poets). In this study, I analyzed some of the syntactic and morphological topics included in the poem, providing a detailed explanation of them. I traced their occurrences in the verses of Teabbata Sharran, explained their grammatical functions, and presented the opinions and views of grammar scholars. The study consists of an introduction, two chapters, and a conclusion. The introduction discusses the importance of the research, its objectives, challenges, an overview of Mufaddaliyat and its compiler, and a review of previous studies. It also includes a detailed biography of the poet, Teabbata Sharran. In the first chapter, I conducted a syntactic analysis of the verses by presenting the most significant syntactic structures and issues within the poem. I discussed and analyzed these structures and examined the opinions of grammar scholars using reliable sources. Some of the topics addressed include: the six special nouns (al-asma al-sitta), abrogating particles (al-huruf al-nasikha), the function of derived nouns, the circumstantial accusative (hal), the exceptional usage of "laysa," and other syntactic issues. In the second chapter, I conducted a morphological analysis of the verses of Teabbata Sharran by identifying the key morphological topics found in the Mufaddaliyya poem, explaining them in detail, and relying on information from trusted morphological sources. Some of the topics covered include: verbal nouns (masdar) of triliteral and augmented verbs, the active participle (ism al-fa'il), hyperbolic forms (sighat al-mubalaghah), adjectival nouns (sifah mushabbaha), vowel shifts (i'lal), and other morphological issues.
