Abstract (EN)
Calculation of the cooling load caused by building structural elements plays a major role during selection of suitable systems for conditioning the air (HVAC) that directly affect consumption of energy. In line with these demands, ASHRAE has developed various methods like (TETD), (CLTD), and (RTS). For having the solution for the problems appear from different cooling load calculations, the RTS method recommended by ASHRAE and the coefficients called Conduction Time Series (CTS), which is an indicator of building structure performance, were calculated for 35 different walls and 19 different roof types. Due to the limited number of CTS coefficients calculated and the fact that these structures are different from the building structure components commonly used in Turkey, the need to calculate CTS coefficients for different building components has arisen. In this study, an analytical solution method has been developed to ascertain the CTS coefficients of different components by using the Complex Finite Fourier Transform technique (CFFT) for the arrangement of the time dependent heat transfer problem. Using the CFFT technique in calculating RTS cooling load values and determining the CTS coefficients is a new approach to solve the problem of time. In this direction, a calculation method based on mathematical solution was developed and this solution was realized with the help of a computer program prepared with MATLAB software.
