General approaches to the methods and techniques appliccable for the correct and complete use of body in the instrument education

Ill GENERAL APPROACHES TO THE METHODS AND TECHNIQUES APPLICCABLE FOR THE CORRECT AND COMPLETE USE OF BODY IN THE INSTRUMENT EDUCATION (MASTER THESIS) ÜLKÜ ARMA?AN TOP GAZI UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF EDUCATIONAL SCIENCES Ankara 2004 ABSTRACT This research aims to present the methods and techniques applicable for the correct and complete use of the body in the instrument education. In the light of the findings of the research; by recommending solutions regarding the prevention and removal of the physiological difficulties, illnesses and problems experienced during the musical performance; it is aimed to be of help to the instrument education. The research is a descriptive one and was prepared by the methods of "searching sources" and "applying questionnaire". In the research, the method of "applying questionnaire" is used with the aim of ascertaining the level of consciousness, ability and needs of the students studying at the departments of music education. The data obtained by these questionnaires are analyzed statistically and converted into tables of frequency and percentage. The findings reached by the analysis of the applied questionnaire are evaluated and comments and suggestions of solutions are improved in the light of the results. With the research it is seen that the consciousness and skill level of the students who take instrument education are low in terms of the correct and complete use of theirIV bodies. In this direction, it is suggested that the methods and techniques related to the complete and correct use of the body shall be inserted into the process of instrument education.
