A comparison of working and non-working pregnants' deppression moods

The study aims to compare the depression moods of working and non-working pregnant women descriptively. The population consists of people connected to provincial National Education Directorate, Provincial Population Directorate, Provincial Finance Office and Karataş Kavaklık Rotary Family Health Center in Gaziantep. A survey was conducted with 130 people who agreed to work.The data were evaluated in the SPSS 24.0 software. the working pregnant women 55.7% of who participated in the study were in the age range of 30-34,29.1% of non-working pregnant women were between the ages of 25-29. 75.6% of the employed and 14.5% of the non-working pregnants are university graduates. 88.9% of working women have a core family, 64.4% have good economic status,64.8% of non-working women have medium economic status. 43.2% of the working pregnant women and 11.2% of the nonworking pregnant women were in the first marriage at the age of 25-29. 13.4% of the working and 23.5% of the non-working pregnants had spontaneous abortions.7.1% of working pregnants and 3.8% of non-working pregnants stated that they did not want their last pregnancy. 88.9% of the working pregnants and 48.1% of the non-working pregnants were specially fed because of pregnancy. 31.9% of the working pregnants and 18.9% of the non-working pregnants smoke. 45.5% of working pregnants and 76.4% of non-working pregnants mentioned they were always in agreement with their spouses. 17.8% of working pregnants and 1.8% of non-working had severe epression. Beck depression score was found to be statistically higher in employed compared to the unemployed. Because of the increased incidence of depression in the pregnant population, who are working, will benefit from a professional psychiatrist or psychologist support at their work places so the depression rate may decrease in that community.
