Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between emotion management skills, job satisfaction and work rumination in working individuals. Demographic Information Form, Emotion Management Skills Scale, Job Satisfaction Scale and Work Rumination Scale were used in the study. The sample of the study consists of 600 individuals working in various work branches. The results were obtained by performing Multi-Way Linear Regression analysis with SPSS. 22 package program. In this context, the emotion management skills and job satisfaction levels of working individuals were examined according to the variables of marital status, years of work, gender and education status and their work rumination (Emotional, Problem Solving, Detachment) tendencies. When the results were examined according to the gender variable, as emotion management skills increase in employees, emotional rumination and problem solving rumination decrease while detachment rumination increases. In addition, as job satisfaction increases in employees, problem solving rumination increases and this effect is higher in men. According to the marital status variable, the results did not differ, and as emotion management skills increased in both single and married employees, a decrease in emotional rumination and problem-solving rumination and an increase in detachment rumination were observed. In single and married employees with increased job satisfaction, an increase in problem-solving rumination was observed as emotion management skills increased. When the study was examined according to the work year variable, it was found that emotion management skills had a function of reducing emotional rumination and problem-solving rumination in all work year groups. Finally, it was determined that with the increase in the level of education, individuals were able to manage emotional processes more healthily and reduce ruminative tendencies. In conclusion, this study revealed that emotion management skills and job satisfaction in working individuals created significant effects on the sub-dimensions of work-related rumination. The findings show that individuals being able to manage their emotions effectively in work life and being satisfied with their jobs can reduce ruminative thought patterns and support detachment rumination.
