The effect of personality characteristics on cyberslacking and job satisfaction: An example from public instituttion

This study the research is conducted to measure a level of job satisfaction in the workplace and to determine the importance of personality among these variables with the concept of cyberloafing that has emerged with the widespread use of the internet in all areas in rcecent years. The sample of this study consists of personnel that working in a state-owned enterprise. First of all, the literature reviewed. Then data were collected by using three different scales by questionnaire method. These scales; cyberslacking sub-dimensions (Serious and Minor Cyberloafing), job satisfaction sub-dimensions and dimensions (agreeableness, conscientiousness and openmindedness, extraversion, neuroticism) are at the bottom of the double feature. A 47 question questionnaire including demographic questions was answered by 242 administrative employees and analyzed with the oppropriate computer program. A significant relationship was found between the between the emotional balance and openness to experience and resposility dimensions with cyberloafing. Significant relationship is found between significant cyberloafing dimensions and personality traits dimensions. According to the results; significant relationship is found between extroversion, openness to experience and responsibility and emotional balance with cyberloafing and between job satisfaction and cyberloafing. It is found that three is no relationship between personality dimensions and insignificant cyberloafing. It is thought that there is limited number of studies in the subject. When the literature is examined, therefore this study will be useful for researchers and practitoners.
