Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to adapt the "Lifelong Learning Scale of Employees" developed by Gardiner and Kline (2007) to Turkish. In the study, the Lifelong Learning Scale of Employees translated into Turkish was presented to three different language experts and opinions and recommendations were obtained about the translation of each item. Afterwards, 18 English teachers were applied to the original and Turkish Forms for 3 weeks, and correlation analyzes were conducted for linguistic equivalence (language validity). In order to analyze the structure validity and substance analyzes of the scale, the researcher conducted face-to-face interviews with 300 employees. Explanatory and confirmatory factor analyzes were conducted to obtain evidence on the validity and reliability of the scale form obtained on the basis of expert opinions. According to confirmatory factor analysis results, compliance index values were RMSEA=0.075; GFI=0.914; AGFI=0.855; NFI=0.888; CFI=0.811. In addition, Cronbach α values for the relevant measures were calculated to obtain evidence of the level of reliability in terms of internal consistency. In the analysis of the data, descriptive and meaningful statistical methods were used by using SPSS 24.0 and AMOS software. As a result, all of the linguistic validity values were found to be greater than r = 0.70. As a result of the factor analysis, the Turkish Form of Employee Lifelong Learning Scale (ÇYBÖÖ-TF) composed of 16 items collected under 3 sub-dimensions. The eigen value of the passion sub-dimension was 4,426 and the explained variance was 27,66%; the eigen value of the fear sub-dimension was 2,586 and the explained variance was 16,16%, the eigen value of ambition sub-dimension was 2,023, and the explained variance was 12,64%. All of the 16 items accounted for 56,465% of the total variance. As a result of confirmatory factor analysis, it was observed that the scale provided minimum conditions and formed a model. On the other hand, internal consistency was found to be 0.803 in the passion subscale, 0.821 in fear subscale, 0.783 in the subscale of ambition and 0.780 in the scale overall. Therefore, Cronbach Alpha, item-total correlation and the discrimination tests provided the acceptable reliability condition of the scale. As a result, it has been concluded that the Employees' Lifelong Learning Scale Turkish Form (ÇYBÖÖ-TF) can be used to measure lifelong learning motivations for employees and can be used in research to reveal passion, fear and ambition sub-dimensions which are forming motivation. Key Words Ambition, Employee, Fear, Lifelong learning, Passion, Scale adaptation
