Quality of life in old age after working life

The study extensively covers the conceptual framework of work life and old age, quality of life, social policies for the elderly, and retirement rights of older individuals. The relationship between pre-retirement work life and retirement period quality of life is examined within the context of their profession and social security coverage. Additionally, expectations regarding the retirement period and the quality of life of retired individuals are explained. This research is expected to contribute to the literature by providing a detailed conceptual framework for both old age and quality of life. The impact of work life on the quality of life during the retirement period is compiled through semi-structured interviews with the participation of 60 elderly retired individuals, considering the comprehensive evaluation of the topic. The ultimate aim of the research is to examine the impact of older individuals' pre-retirement work life on their quality of life during retirement in the context of social security. Semi-structured interview method was employed during the research. However, the research findings did not yield definitive and valid results regarding the relationship between pre-retirement work life and quality of life during the retirement period. This is because the responses given in the interviews related to the research topic may vary from person to person, and the simultaneous influence of multiple factors on the quality of life during the retirement period, such as age, gender, sector, country, and technological advancement, hinders reaching conclusive and valid results.
