Abstract (EN)
This study was conducted to examine the level of social work awareness, work–family life balance, social service needs, and awareness of social rights among women actively participating in the workforce in Çankırı, Türkiye. The research was carried out with 25 volunteer female participants and designed within the qualitative research approach, using a descriptive survey model. A semi-structured questionnaire form prepared by the researcher was used as the data collection tool, and the obtained data were analyzed through descriptive analysis techniques. According to the findings, although most participants had heard of the concept of social work, their practical knowledge and access to social service resources were limited. The majority of the women reported difficulties in maintaining a work–life balance, expressed the need for psychological support, and indicated that they had experienced gender-based discrimination in the workplace. Heavy workloads, familial responsibilities, and a lack of institutional support were identified as key factors contributing to emotional exhaustion among participants. Additionally, it was found that the level of awareness regarding social rights was insufficient, and there is a strong need for more effective information dissemination and accessibility efforts. The results highlight the necessity for social work professionals to play an active role in empowering women socially, psychologically, and economically. It is recommended that institutions establish internal social service units, promote awareness-raising programs, and strengthen gender-sensitive social policies. The study reveals that working women occupy a crucial position in ensuring social welfare, and enhancing social service practices that address their needs would make a significant contribution to social development.
