Abstract (EN)

The aim of this thesis is to examine, on the basis of an experiment, the relationship between quality of work life, employees' emotional labour and intention to leave the job. In this connection, the first part of the thesis deals with the concept of quality of work life and the second part looks into the concepts of emotional labour and intention to leave. The third part of the thesis consists of the research and the analysis. In the research part, a random sample of 300 employees was taken from different sectors of activity. The necessary data was collected by way of survey; out of the answers obtained from the survey conducted on the sample of 300, 224 were taken into consideration and the remaining 76 were discarded due to failure to meet the requirements. The research consisted of two main hypotheses, indicated as H1 and H2, representing the conceptual model. Six sub-hypotheses, indicated as H1a, H1b, H1c, H1d, H1e and H1f, were formulated under the first main hypothesis, and three sub-hypotheses, H2a, H2b and H2c, were formulated under the second. At the outcome of the regression analysis conducted to test the hypotheses, H1, H1a, H1b, H1c, H1d, H1e, H1f, H2 and H2c were accepted and H2a and H2b were rejected. Keywords: Work Life Quality, Emotional Labour, Intention to Leave the Job.
