Investigation of fiber orientation, number of layers and tensile test speeds effect on carbon and glass fiber composite materials

Abstract (EN)

In recent years, when technological developments have progressed very rapidly, the properties of materials and materials required are constantly changing. New material types are being manufactured. The most important of these are composite materials due to their properties such as high strength, lightness, corrosion resistance and good shapeability compared to metal materials. In this study, carbon fiber and glass fiber sheets were produced by vacuum infusion method. The plates were produced in [0/90]8, [0/90]4, [+45/-45]8, [+45/-45]4 orientations. Produced sheets were cut according to ASTM D3039 standards. Tensile tests of carbon fiber test specimens were carried out at a drawing speed of 1 mm / min. Glass fiber test specimens were carried out at draw speeds of 1 mm / min and 10 mm / min. The information obtained from the test results and the numerical verification in the finite element method were performed.
