Abstract (EN)
In this experimental study, shear strengths of triple samples formed from agglomerated blocky elements reinforced with alkali-resistant glass and polypropylene based hybrid and multi-axis seismic textile material were investigated. Seismic textile applied to pumice block samples by using two different types of special adhesive plaster; unilateral, double sided and overlapped. One of these two different types of special bonding plasters is of German origin and is based on white cement and natural water lime. The other one is domestic production and is based on expanded glass beads. A total of 34 samples were produced; 190x390x185 mm pumice blocks were used in the construction of the samples. 16 samples within the scope of Experiment I group in Structural Mechanics Laboratory of Technology Faculty of Düzce University and 18 samples under the Experiment II group in Building Materials Laboratory of Technology Faculty of Sakarya University, forced to slip from mortar-bims interface by subjecting to vertical load at a compression-tensile test device. Non-reinforced samples evaluated as reference, samples with sand plaster applied to single side, samples with 2 cm white cement and natural water lime based plaster applied to one side, samples with 2 cm glass bead-based plaster on one side and samples with 1 cm glass globe based adhesive plaster applied on both sides, were examined with triplet shear tests and the obtained test results were compared in terms of force-displacement relations and shear strength parameters. Consequently, application of special adhesive plasters to the surface of samples; increased shear strength. In addition, the reinforcement system created by the combination of seismic textile and binding plasters prevented sudden breakage.
