Abstract (EN)

The usage possibilities and development processes of the Pate de Verre glass forming technique, which is among the mold forming techniques, from past to present are included in this study. Developing new alternative methods to the technique through personal applications using the Pate de Verre technique is aimed. The first part of the thesis contains the introduction. In the second part, the definition of glass and the history of glass are briefly mentioned, and in the third part, mold forming techniques under the title of kiln formed glass shaping techniques; Lost wax technique, casting technique using funnel, fusion technique and hot glass casting techniques are included. In the fourth part, the Pate de Verre technique is defined and the history of the Pate de Verre technique is discussed. Additionally, technical developments of the Art Nouveau period are included. In the fifth part, the possibilities of using the Pate de Verre technique today, its application methods and the works of the artists who use the technique are included. Usage aspects of the Pate de Verre technique are explained from different perspectives. In the last part, personal applications produced using a special technique, which is a mixture of Pate de Verre and Sucuk techniques developed during the thesis process, are included. This technical application process; This technical application process consists of production stages such as glass granule preparation, mold making, glass placement and firing. These special technical applications, obtained by bringing a new approach, are presented in detail in this section with visuals of the glass works.
