Flameworking technique in glass art

The flame working technique used since ancient times in the history of glass art. With the development of technology over time, works done for thousands of years have also differed both artistic and industrial. Besides these, application environments, used raw materials, materials and scientific knowledge related to this have also improved. The aim of this thesis is to emphasize the importance of flameworking technique in glass art which is one of the hot glass forming techniques. The first part of the work which consists of five main sections, deals with the historical process and development of the flame working technique from antiquity up to the present day. In the third part, the information about applying this technique is explained in detail with the properties of the main tools, devices and materials used. In the fourth chapter, glass is explained by the material properties and basic principles. Also the main styling and decoration methods applied in the flameworking technique. The fifth chapter covers leading artists, practices, and knowledge that make use of this technique in the world. In the last part, the researcher's personal practices are included.
