Techniques of glass production and personal interpretations

Turkey, as in many other fields, also owns a very old heritage in the field of glass production. The diversity that derives form the past, reflects itself as a versatility in today's glass production. With this study, different kinds of glass production methods and the hints that each technique keeps inside has been aimed to be observed. In the wide field of the subject 'glass production', the history of glass production has been mentioned firstly. Afterwards, the known techniques that have been used in glass production have been explained with suitable examples. Besides, personal suggestions about glass shaping have also been discussed. These technical suggestions have been applied in the glass workshop. Tests about the suggested methods have been done and the results observed. In the conclusion part, the applications of the methods that have been mentioned in the thesis, have been discussed. It is hoped that this thesis, will be a useful source in the literature of glass art for other artists and researchers in this field.
