Monitoring and assessment of the situation following the land consolidation activities in the Yeniçiflik village of Çanakkale-Biga

This study has been prepared for the monitoring and assessment of the situation following the land consolidation activities in the Yeniçiflik Village of Çanakkale-Biga. The materials used in the study consist of the data obtained from the questionnaire carried out with 50 holdings in the village and the data obtained from the related institutions.The water use efficiency, the agricultural efficiency, and the social and economic efficiency have been used as the three basic indicators in order to determine the efficiency of land consolidation. The effect of consolidation on the water use efficiency, transportation efficiency, the form, size and number of parcels have been analysed under these indicators. Moreover, the effects of consolidation regarding the social and economic aspects have been analysed as well as consolidation and irrigation rates.The total parcel number has decreased about 63%. Consolidation and irrigation rates are specified to be 63% and 81,6% respectively. All parcels are provided with a road and an irrigation system. It has been determined that the living conditions of the holdings have improved in social and economic aspects and their income levels have increased considerably.
