Abstract (EN)

Remote Sensing (RS) and Geographic Information System (CIS) are two of the most important tools to be used for decreasing the earthquake hazards, preparation, reserving, first aid and determination of the new land use. In this thesis RS and GIS methods were applied to Çanakkale. Ground and settelments were taken into account in this study. City Information Sytem, which could be used by administrator and planner for ensuring the reducing expected earthquake hazards, was prepared. Also, deterministic seismic hazard analysis was examined for faults around Çanakkale. In this thesis it was discussed the capability of determination of expected damage cost for earthquake hazards was possible. Key yvords: RS, GIS, earthquake, expected cost, damage cost.
