The most efficient drip irrigation program for pepper (Capsicum annuum)in Çanakkale region

ABSTRACTDETERMINING THE MOST EFFICIENT DRIP IRRIGATION PROGRAMFOR PEPPER (Capsicum annuum) IN CANAKKALE REGIONThis research was carried out to determine the effects of 5 different irrigationwater amounts on fruit yield and some quality parameters of California Wonder peppercultivar in Canakkale Onsekiz Mart University Faculty of Agriculture DardanosResearch and Application areas in 2002-2003.The research was carried out according to randomized plot design with threerepetitions and 5 different water amounts were applied to the plots.According to the data obtained, irrigation water amounts effected the fruityield both two years and highest yield was obtained from %75 irrigated plots in 2002,and %100 irrigated plots in 2003 (6888 kg/da-6564 kg/da). Irrigation was applied 16times in the first and 18 times in the second year with the amounts of 609 mm and 915mm respectively to the recommended K5 irrigation water amount.Also according to the data obtained from the statistical analyzes, the irrigationwater amounts applied on the plots affected the quality parameters fruit yield both twoyears.Key Words: Drip irrigation, Pepper, Quality, WUEII
