A study of taxonomic characteristics, intensities and prevalence of plant parasitic nematode species in rice plants (Oryza sativa L.) in Çankırı and Çorum districts

Abstract (EN)
In this study, plant parasitic nematod species was examined in the important rice planting areas which belongs to Çorum and Çankırı districts namely faunistic and taxonomic. In 2005, during the May and October months, when plant parasite nematods are abundant, soil and plant were taken. After that, nematodes were extracted, prepared and they were measured and identified. Identification, synonyms, possible variations, distribution and habitats of each species are given as a result of both laboratory studies and literature. In addition to, the soil samples were analyzed for their pH, texture, elements, nutrition, water saturation, salinity and organic matter characterization. Rice seed samples from granary and warchowes Çankırı and Çorum provines during 2006-2007, were examined for A. besseyi, which a seed borne and is an important pest for rice. As a result of this diagnostic study, 2 species were determined of which this species from 2 family which is included in Aphelenchina sub-family from were obtained. 12 kinds, which are included in 6 family, 8 subfamilies and 10 genus from belonging to in Tylenchida order, were identified. The identification of male species and analysis of seed samples were not completed. Among these species; Filenchus vulgaris is the first record for Turkish nematode fauna. A. avenae and A. besseyi are the species obtained from Aphelenchida order. The infestation rate of A. besseyi in seed samples is 7,80% in Çankırı province and 15,26% in Çorum province. The most encountered species from Tylenchida or are Pratylenchoides alkani, Pratylenchus penetrans and Filenchus filiformis. Key Words :Plant parasitic nematodes, rice, taxonomy,soil, Çankırı, Çorum.
