Investigation of cuttabilitiy properties of Çankırı brown marble

In this study the cutting performance of circular diamond saw blade was investigated in the processing of a natural stone (Çankırı Red). A series of cutting tests were carried out by considering depth of cut, cutting speed, peripheral speed of the slaw blade.Additionally, the effect of the cutting parameters an lateral displacement of the slaw blade was examined. In the study, three different cutting speeds (0.3, 0.4, 0.6) peripheral speeds (30, 40, 50) and depth of cuts (20, 40, 60) were used. All tests were conducted a fully instrumented high precision block-cutter specially designed for marble cutting researches.Results obtained from the study show that an increase in cut speed and peripheral speed results in increase the power consumption.
