A group of glass artifacts from Çankırı Museum

Discovered since the 3rd millennium BC and still in use today, glass was found in solid form in nature, shaped by human beings and used in daily life. The aim of the study on a group of glass works in the Çankırı Museum is to introduce the works with a rich collection to the scientific world and to attract the necessary attention. In this study, first of all, Çankırı necessary attention. In this study, first of all, Çankırı Museum was explained by giving information about Çankırı province, its history and geography, and then general information about the definition of glass, production and decoration techniques, tools used in glass making, glass furnaces and the historical development of glass were given. There are 512 pieces of glass artifacts brought to the Çankırı Museum through excavation, donation, purchase and confiscation. Generally, the artifacts produced by blowing and molding methods were used to preserve them by putting various plasters inside and as a dead gift in the graves. The fact that they were intact made us think that they could be grave finds. In addition to containers such as alabastron, unguentarium, bottles, jugs, glasses, bowls, ornaments such as rings and bracelets were included in the study, 36 works were evaluated. One of the works in the same form was evaluated and meticulously dated according to similar forms known in the literature.
