Abstract (EN)

INTRODUCTION AND PURPOSE: In our study, it was aimed to reveal the factors affecting the cold and warm ischemia times in recipients who underwent living donor nephrectomy and to show the effect on graft function in the postoperative period. MATERIAL AND METHOD: The study was retrospectively designed with 69 recipients who underwent live donor kidney transplant surgery due to kidney failure at Sakarya University Training and Research Hospital Kidney Transplant Center between April 2019 and July 2021. SPSS analysis was performed by recording recipient, donor information and operation data. RESULTS: The demographic and clinical data of the recipients were similar to the Turkish average. It was observed that the increase in the number of arteries caused an increase in the warm ischemia time. It was observed that other independent variables did not make a significant difference in terms of warm ischemia. It was observed that male gender, number of arteries, and left kidney implantation caused an increase in cold ischemia time. It was observed that other independent variables did not make a significant difference in terms of cold ischemia. It was observed that creatinine levels measured on the 7th postoperative day were higher in patients with prolonged cold ischemia time. CONCLUSION: As a result, keeping the cold and warm ischemia times in the perioperative period in the appropriate time in living donor transplant patients and knowing the affecting factors are important in terms of patient survival and graft function. Key Words: Chronic Kidney Disease, Cold Ischemia, Dialysis, Renal Transplantation, Warm Ischemia
