The effect of live model studies on art education at education faculties

The purpose of this study is to introduce and reveal the positive and negative effects of view to live model on art education and pattern studies from live model on art education provided at faculties of education.The study group of the research is composed of 7 teaching staff and 15 students from a higher education institution offering education of art which is Art of Painting Education in Department of Fine Arts at Gazi University.In this study, during qualitative data collection phase firstly the integral material is searched thoroughly then, taking expert opinions an interview form is developed and this interview form is applied to study group individually. The data obtained as a result of the application is converted into a text document and interpreted by the researcher.The result of the study reveals that live model is, ?sine qua non?, an essential component structure in art training process. With the scope of these findings, recommendations for the essential live model studies are provided in the last part of the study.
