Abstract (EN)

It is possible to start Orientalism, which has spread over a wide area, with the Vienna Council held in 1312. Carl Brockelmann, one of the most famous representatives of orientalism that has gone through different stages over time, has grown up with the education he received at different universities and has a serious position in Eastern studies over time. Brockelmann, who had also been involved in educational activities in many universities of the period, also held several administrative positions such as the Dean's Office and the Rectorate. The most well-known work of Brockelmann, who searched countless works in the fields of literature and history for orientalism research, is the "History of Arab Literature" known as GAL. Also, "History of Islamic Nations and States", which is the masterpiece of history studies, should not be forgotten. As a historian, it is possible to argue that Carl Brockelmann is influenced by classical orientalist views. Brockelmann especially stands out with his harsh style in the evaluations of prophet Muhammed and the first periods of Islamic History.
