Analysis of the factors affecting falls in roof and facade systems

It is necessary to analyze the foreground of accidents and causes with numerical data to minimize the risk of accidents during the manufacturing, dismantling and repairing of roof and facade systems and in turn to take the necessary safety measures. Therefore, in this study, a web-based questionnaire was prepared to determine the reasons behind the accidents during roof and facade cladding and to evaluate the safety measures used. The sample set of the survey included 151 technical staff working in various management positions in construction firms. The results of the survey are evaluated together with the findings of literature, and it is aimed to take a snapshot of the current situation and increase the level of awareness especially for those working in the design and implementation phases. As a result of the study, company based actions are summarized as follows: create, develop and internalize specific "Business Culture" for the company to comply with the legislation and ethical principles in both technical matters and occupational health and safety issues in business life; identify potential (latent) "Dynamic and Variable External Environment Variants" within the firm; take required precautions as soon as possible and start "Job Analysis" where the details and the environmental status of the job and the personal requirements of the employees and the job/task profiles are revealed.
