Abstract (EN)

The purpose of our study is to present the iconicity in Catullus' poems. Icons appear when form resembles meaning. They can be auditory as well as visual and they can be found in every layer of the text. In this study we especially concentrate on figures of speeches. While we focus on icons in Catullus' poems, we also investigate ideas put forth in Antiquity about the relation between this kind of representation and figures of speech. We examine studies that deals with iconicity and similar concepts in classical philology. We found out the presence of iconicity in Catullus' poems.
