Abstract (EN)

In this study, the mafic volcanic rocks belonging to the Yüksekova Complex unit, which outcrops in a wide area of approximately 100 km2 in the northern parts of the Çaybağı (NE Elazığ) region, are discussed in terms of petrographic and mineralogical aspects. The main investigated locations; It is around Fahribey hamlet, Fahribeyköy, Osmanağaköy, Topağaç, Soğanlı, Selim, Yukarıkazanlar and Askertepe Mountains. The dominant lithology in the investigated area is basaltic pillow lava, lava flows, lava breccias and accompanying volcanic clastic materials. While the mafic igneous rocks show approximately homogeneity in petrographic terms in the compared areas, they differ partially in textural and alteration types. Porphyric, vesicular, amygdaloidal, hyalomicrolytic, microlitic/hyalomicrolytic porphyric textures can be observed in plagioclase + pyroxene ± olivine dominant rocks. While no specific composition or textural feature is observed in a particular location, alteration features may seem dominant in some locations depending on the type. The main alterations are opacity, silicification, spilitization, argillization, chloritization, carbonation and serpentinization. With this study, it was also determined that secondary processes were partially revealed and hydrothermal processes should be revealed in detail. In this study, mafic volcanic rocks in general; They are defined as spilitic basalt, amygdaloidal basalt and pyroxene basalt. Confocal Raman Spectrometer studies, which were performed for the first time on Ural (2012) samples representing the study locations, were based on representative and most suitable samples for analysis. As a result of Confocal Raman Spectroscopy analyzes performed on pyroxene, plagioclase and some opaque minerals found in these rock samples, primarily 'augite, diopside, albite, labradorite, magnetite'; secondarily, 'epidote, hematite' minerals were determined.
