Abstract (EN)
Todays common photovoltaic technology mainly consists of silicon-based single junction solar cells. However, as well as being expensive, this technologhy has also low efficiency. Therefore, the use of solar energy is less than %5 compared to other total energy sources. Different technologies are being developed for maximum use of solar energy . The most important of these is quantum dot based III. generation solar cells. In this technology, quantum dots are used as the basic absorber that converts photon energy into electrical energy. They are semiconductor nano-materials which have the potential to use in many areas due to their physical properties of quantum dots vary with size. The theoretical yield of quantum dot-based solar cells can rise up to 50% and its production is very simple and cheap. In this study, the structure of CdSe/CdTe quantum dot sensitized solar cells are designed and electrical properties are investigated. Their current-voltage relationships and efficiency were recorded.
