Abstract (EN)
In this study, an experimental investigation carried out to estimate the energy dissipation efficeiency of multi layered systems designed for impact loadings. The study focused on examining the effects of reinforcement, use of geotextiles and geogrids, and the relative density of granular materials on the performance of the structure. For this purpose, model scale experiments conducted in the drop weight impact test setup constructed in the structural mechanics laboratory. The measured dynamic strain and stresses compared to the drop weight energy to measure the efficiency. The results can be used as a guide for the design of barrier structures, which are aimed to serve as protection measures for dynamic loadings such as rockfall.Key Words : Pipe systems, protective structures, rock fall, impact
