Abstract (EN)
Steel structures are preferred due to their seismic performance and advantages in the production process. Especially in regions with high earthquake risk like our country, steel structures emerge as a more reliable option. The importance of beam-column connections is significant in terms of engineering. These connections being strong and flexible ensures the resilience of structures under seismic loads. Particularly, the difficulty in connections in box-section elements emphasizes the importance of correct design and production processes. The use of correct techniques and materials is crucial for the easy assembly of such connections. In this study, a bolted connection type with a stiffener plate in box-section column-beam connections has been created. For investigation based on this connection type, 8 test specimens were prepared and subjected to cyclic loads. Finite element analysis was carried out using the ABAQUS (6.10) program in three dimensions. Experiments were conducted based on the position of the stiffener plate on the beam. As a result, the use of the stiffener plate increased the maximum moment and maximum force. It is recommended that the position of the stiffener plate on the beam should be between 1/5 and 2/5 ofthe beam length.
