Abstract (EN)
In Turkey, because of some advantages, the use of steel structures increased rapidly, but scientific base is not formed yet The concept of the thesis is, to show the weakness and protection methods of steel structure components against the fire. Another aim of this work is to focus on lack of standards and specifications in Turkey about the subject In this work, step by step, general information about fire and fire safety, effects of fire on structural materials, effects of fire on steel and fire safety methods for steel structure components are searched. Finally chose a case study, which is the steel structure, contains too much live load. It is researched from the point of fire safety.
