Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, the history of steel structures was briefly mentioned and it was emphasized that the usage areas of steel structures have been increasing until today. As time passed, the regulations were updated and new methods were developed with more real results. The aim of our thesis is to show the differences between these updated and changed regulations between the old and the new. And it is also to see the differences between the design methods in the new regulation. In this thesis, the industrial building and the multi-storey building were modeled in different geometric shapes, analyzed and dimensioned with the help of the structural analysis program Sap2000, and the results were given comparatively in the form of tables and graphs in the form of structural weights, section forces affecting structural elements, and interaction rates. These structures were compared in terms of construction economy by applying both "Load and Strength Coefficients and Design (YDKT)" and "Safety Coefficients" and design (GKT) approaches mentioned in the TÇY 2016 regulation. Apart from this, for both TS 648 and TÇY 2016 regulations, the principles for the design of buildings under earthquake load earthquake effect TBDY2018 regulations were taken into consideration. In the analysis with TS648 regulation, vertical, wind and snow loads TS498 regulation were used. For the TÇY 2016 regulation, the wind load TS EN 1991-1-4 regulation and for the snow loads TS EN 1991-1-3 regulations were taken into consideration, and the TS498 regulation was used for vertical loads.
