Abstract (EN)

In this study, material and geometrical non-linear analysis methods are investigated to find out the real behaviours of steel structures. The study is concluded in six parts, in which the purpose and the scope of the study are defined in the first chapter by introducing non-linear behaviour and surveying the former studies. In the second chapter, materially non-linear behaviour is introduced in relation with the assumptions and the principles of method are shown. The structural behaviour considering materially non-linear analysis is briefly explained. In the third chapter, geometrical non-linear behaviour, P-A and P-8 effects are investigated. Second order analysis İs represented through stability functions, geometrical stiffness matrices, and some iterative approximate methods. In the fourth chapter, material and geometrical non-linear analysis methods, which are explained briefly in chapter two and chapter three are discussed. Calculation process and non-linear analysis procedures are also explained. In the fifth chapter, linear and non-linear analysis procedures are applied on the sample frame structures using matrix methods. The application processes are also shown step-by-step and in detail. Various load increment methods are investigated and the advantages of these methods to each other are presented. In the sixth chapter, the calculation results obtained by non-linear analysis methods from the previous chapter are compared and discussed. The results of the study are also shown in this chapter.
