Abstract (EN)
This research was carried out to determine the effects of some organic materials on the yield and quality characteristics of rice, cultivated in Gümüşçay, Biga-Çanakkale, in 2011 growing season. In the study, leonardite, cattle manure compost, sheep manure compost, chicken manure compost, and garbage compost treatments were used along with the conventional and control (no fertilizer) plots.The highest yield was obtained from cattle manure compost treatment. When compared to the conventional plots and the other treatments, obtaining a higher yield, total milling efficiency and unbroken milling efficiency values suggested that the cattle manure application would be an important practice for rice cultivation in the region.
