Abstract (EN)

In this study, place, which is one of the elements of narrative texts, has been examined by making use of many different fields, since it is an interdisciplinary concept. Cemil Kavukçu, who has a unique place among Turkish storytellers after 1980, has dealt with the use of place with his own unique images in his eighteen story books he has written so far. No specific study has been carried out before on the function and meaning of place in Cemil Kavukçu's stories. In this context, the meanings of the place that Kavukçu tried to bring were examined. This study aims to bring a new perspective to the understanding of the place that Cemil Kavukçu puts forth in his stories. In the first part of the study, the poetics of the place was examined from a general perspective; In the second part, information is given about the life of the author and his place in Turkish literature the last chapter, which is the third chapter, the image of place in Cemil Kavukçu's stories is "Places of Tranquility", "Enigmatic Places", "Abandoned Places", "Secluded Places", "Sheltered Places", "Gloomy Places", "Escape Places", "Places of Shelter", "Places of Remembrance", "Meeting Places", "Psychological Places", "Entertainment Places", "Places Related to Animals", "Places Named for Women", "Villages and Towns" and "Places Related to Water" discussed below with examples. As a result of the study, a conclusion has been reached regarding the imaginary features of the places that Cemil Kavukçu used in his stories.
